people who aggressively hate cats are weird
people who hate cats are who u should look out for. they hate cats because cats will not be controlled by a human and that fact upsets so many people.
I have a theory that many cat haters have done something evil or cruel to a cat in the past, possibly as children, and found out the hard way why cats have claws.
Cats, for the most part, give what they get, and behind most cats with anger issues, there’s a person tormenting it.
Remembering still my classmate who told the class how she thought her life was fine untill she realized her cat hid under the furniture every time her boyfriend came home from work. Up til then she’d been ignoring the abuse to herself.
Remembering too my mother telling me about the time one of her kittens got hurt and yelped in pain, so mama cat responded by crossing the room to attack my uncle. He hadn’t done anything to the kitten, but knowing him she just assumed he had and also knowing him my mom ran to protect her from him.
Dogs can do all this too, but their reaction is usually submission. If they are aggressive it’s written off or even encouraged since we train and breed dogs to be aggressive. Cats just come across as vicious for no reason because overall we expect them to be cuddly lap kitties who won’t fight back. When these perceptions are challenged, instead of thinking “wow, movies sure lied to me” we think “wow, the whole species must be that way.”
