I think the Avengers cinematic series lost it’s appeal pretty much the same second I realized the directors were never going to make the team be friends
Ok honestly this is completely fair, like I still watch all the marvel movies but the actual avenger movies are just a drag sometimes. I have to watch them fight each other the entire movie because for some reason the directors think drama is the only way to keep the audience enthralled, like no dude. I just want to see them be a real team who joke and goof off with each other, and yea that does mean arguing sometimes but I’ve never been with a group of people and fought the entire fucking time. Like it is possible to be serious and to try to keep your spirits up with inside jokes or stupid gags, but whatever I guess.
↑↑↑↑↑ YESSSSS. Like… That one little moment in AOU with ‘Put Mjolnir in an elevator’ and Steve’s like ‘Is the elevator worthy?’- THAT. That does so much to make it HUMAN. A simple interaction, an acknowledgement of the absurd, poking fun at the cartoonish rules of their universe, ribbing at Thor- like, yeah, the drama is okay, but I’d much rather throw my money into ten minutes of the Odd Squad drinking coffee and shooting the shit over their bizarre powers and backstories than spend another three drawn-out hours absorbing another half-baked blood feud over… I don’t know, an insurance policy? Just. Uuuurfggghhgghhfyjjfk. It’s so TIRED.
