This? This right here? Is Steve trying to figure out if there’s any way he can control this plane. Any way he can land it, any way he can stop it from destroying everything. Guys. The engine just fell out the bottom of the craft. At this point, the whole thing’s flying on battery power. No matter how busted up he was by Bucky’s death, or how much he might have wanted to dance with Peggy, this isn’t a man who’s just giving up. He’s checking out the chances, and discovering that he’s only got one.
This isn’t suicide. This is actually sacrifice.
